Hi! We are Thayer, Leslie and Quinn Mudge. We are brothers and our friends call us ‘the Mudgies’! We were born in Kenya but live in Vermont now. One of our favorite things to do is spend time in nature, where we have learned that everything is connected. We also have seen with our own eyes how habitats are shrinking and some of our favorite species such as sea turtles, monarch butterflies, and giraffes are threatened. We decided that even though we are little, if we work hard we can still help raise awareness and money to support these species. This is where our idea came to sell honey from our bee hives and seeds from our gardens. 100% of the money we raise we give to charities that we know work hard every day to save these animals.
We take care of our bee hives and every fall we harvest honey to sell. But did you know that bees need help too? This is why we planted pollinator gardens in our backyard. It makes the bees happy and the honey tastes like wildflowers.
We also collect milkweed and other wildflower seeds that are important habitats and food sources for animals and bugs - especially monarch butterflies! We sell these seed packets to raise money for charities and to encourage everyone to plant pollinator gardens.
